Success Story Karin Kröss

Certified vitality and health trainer

Karin Kröss

Vitality and health trainer training with 50+

My name is Karin, I am 49 years old and at the end of 2015 I started my training as a certified vitality and health trainer, certified spine trainer, certified relaxation trainer and certified nutrition trainer started. I am also the proud mother of 2 grown-up children and grandmother to three grandchildren.

Sport has been part of my life since kindergarten. I went to the Kinderfreunde dance kindergarten and after-school care center, and I've been exercising regularly ever since. I do sport "only" as a leisure activity, e.g. cycling, swimming, dancing etc. I've also been going to the gym for several years, but something has always come up (health issues) and I've often had to take longer breaks and then start all over again - lost motivation, picked myself up again, etc. ;-)

I worked in the catering industry for over 30 years and unfortunately did a lot of "shenanigans" with my body. 12-16 hours on duty without a break, then going out, max. 4-5 hours sleep, plus smoking, alcohol and daily stress. I stopped smoking 14 years ago and changed jobs 2.5 years ago. I now work at ZIB Training in Vienna as a specialist trainer for tourism and gastronomy and although I don't get much exercise at work, I can now do something really good for my body in my extra free time. That's how I came up with the idea of training in this area.

Sport? - I've been exercising regularly since kindergarten.

Actually, I just wanted to know how to train properly. So I did some research on the internet without any further information and came across the Flexyfit Sports Academy website. It was very appealing and detailed, so I simply made an appointment for an information session. What was originally only intended for me - namely how to move my body "properly", what to eat when or how to eat in order to eat healthily without immediately losing my appetite and doing myself harm - ended up being a very comprehensive training course with a focus on relaxation training, spinal training and corporate fitness.

Integrating the training into my job

My employer recently increased my hours from 35 to 38 per week (also financially) and I work 3 hours per week in our in-house health project "ZIB Dich Xund" as a company fitness trainer. I delight my colleagues with back training, take them Nordic walking in the main avenue and treat them to a PMR session in a relaxed atmosphere. They enjoy training with me because I am honest and open and don't tell anyone I can work miracles. They enjoy what I do!
