Functional anatomy is a foundation necessary for all trainers in exercise, fitness and sports. This subject provides a comprehensive introduction to the anatomy of the human body and a wellspring of important knowledge.
The course is constructed to present the information in an interesting and comprehensible manner and features different learning approaches appropriate for Fitness and Personal Trainers.
The goal is, to understand the relationship between movement patterns, the human body and relevant anatomical terminology.
Physiology
A working understanding of human physiology and therefore the relationships between the various functions of the human body is crucial for anyone working in the exercise and fitness field. It is a requisite knowledge for the sufficient practice of their profession.
This course makes the relationships within the human organism graspable for everyone. Take a deep-dive into the human body and learn the functions of our organism for your new profession in fitness.
In this subject you will get a close look at energy metabolism needed for muscle activation, the circulatory system and the pulmonary system.
Any high quality education in fitness and exercise begins with the foundations of anatomy and physiology.
Training theory
The first part of training theory teaches the basics of training, such as training principles, principles of training design, training methods and the factors of athletic performance. As performance, performance diagnostics, training and competition are closely interrelated, they are also taught accordingly in the course.
In the second part of training theory, training is defined and evaluated as a complex action process and in connection with planning, execution and evaluation. An important part of training theory is still the design of training plans, which is taught in practice with examples of the possibilities of designing a training plan.
In order to delve even deeper into training science, we have worked with top international speakers such as Prof. em. Dr. phil. Dr. med. Dr. h.c. Jürgen Weineck, we have also developed a video workshop on the subject of altitude training.
Sports Psychology - Communication & Motivation
In this unit participants are prepared for successful communication with their clients on every level. In addition, we take a look at how the trainer or coach can go about dealing with their own goals and motives, which will in turn help them better understand their clients.
The right goal-setting and the proper approach to feedback are an important parts of this unit.
The way we manage stress as trainers and with our clients and a variety of learning strategies are explored so these skills can be integrated into your professional approach.
Marketing & Customer Interaction
The unit on Marketing and Customer Interaction gives participants some insight into identifying, working with and marketing to their ideal customer. This is one of the most useful units for the aspiring trainer, as it helps them identify their place in the market, which makes for a more successful career start.
We begin by taking a look at Marketing itself to understand exactly what it is and of what relevance it has for personal trainers. Important basic concepts such as USP, positioning, target market, etc. are introduced and different models from marketing such as the SMART Formula, marketing mix (7Ps) and more are explained.
The communication between trainer and client is also addressed in this unit. Various aspects of communication theory and some guidelines for successful communication are covered.
Upon completion of this subject, participants are able to develop marketing strategies for their product and/or services, ready to position themselves in a market rich in variety and full of possibility!
First aid & sports injuries
Since injuries are a daily occurrence in sports, it is important to know about the causes and consequences of the most common injuries. In case of an emergency the personal trainer must be able to react quickly and correctly.
In addition, the understanding of various injury patterns helps to be able to avoid them from happening.
Intro to Corporate Wellness Programs
More and more companies are integrating Corporate Wellness and similar health initiatives into their employee benefits packages. By doing so they promote the health and well-being of their employees, reducing the incidence of sick-leave and building healthier, stronger team dynamics.
Exactly why such initiatives are important is discussed in this introduction to the concept, as well as challenges that such initiatives face including organisational dysfunction.
Participants also learn about the advantages of corporate wellness and some trusted approaches and tools for finding and working with a company.
We offer suggestions on how to approach companies about Corporate Wellness, how to develop a corporate wellness concept and important organisational points to consider. Participants will be exposed to some practical examples and will have the possiblity to perform group work on the topic.

In this subject, you will learn about the rights and obligations of employment in the sports and health sector .
What is a personal trainer allowed to do and what not?
What tax obligations and options do I have as a trainer?
What does the path to self-employment look like?
Who is liable in the event of sports accidents?
All these questions and many more will be answered in this subject.
Module Fitness training
Strength Training Machines
The subject "Equipment-assisted strength training" is part of the fitness trainer B license training and deals with systematic strength training on stationary training equipment. The focus is on movement control, load control and the individual adaptation of training to different target groups.
Basics
In equipment-supported strength training, the muscles are loaded via mechanically guided movement paths. This enables targeted, controlled strain on individual muscle groups and offers a safe form of training, particularly for beginners, people with restricted mobility or in a rehabilitative context.
Aims of the subject
Teaching the basic biomechanical principles of equipment training
Correct equipment settings and exercise execution
Load dosage according to training goal and performance level
Recognizing and avoiding typical mistakes when using equipment
Contents
The following topics are covered as part of the course:
Differences between free and guided strength training methods
Training planning with stationary equipment
Introduction to equipment parks and standardized equipment circuit systems
Training control in terms of repetitions, intensity and regeneration
Application in everyday training
The content of this subject forms a basis for practical work in fitness studios or health facilities. Graduates are able to create and instruct individual training programs with equipment and implement them in a safety-conscious manner.
Practical Hours Fitness Trainer B-License
Performing practical training sessions is an essential component to achieving the Fitness Trainer B-License.
Studying the anatomy of the human body, especially the muscles with origin and insertion, is an important part of the preparation for the exam. Documenting the practical sessions are just as important. A training record is used to get an overview of the performed session, the achieved goal and the personal experience of the participants.
There are 30 training units, in which the participants can put their acquired knowledge into practice. Each of these units has to be recorded by the participants on their own responsibility, so they can show that they are able to prepare, perform and evaluate a training session independently.
The Fitness Trainer B-License is one of our smaller training courses to gain basic knowledge on topics of strength training with machines, anatomy, physiology, training theory and much more. It is important to structure the training in a way that the participants understand the exercises and are able to perform them safely. For the practical sessions a guide will be provided to the participants, which they can use to write down the training record.
For the evidence of completed sessions, a written confirmation from a trainer or screenshots from a training app must be provided.
Module In-depth fitness training
Training Plans
The planning of training is an essential tool for every instructor in the areas of fitness training, personal training, senior training, etc. Only a reasonable, goal oriented and individual planning of training can lead to the best possible results for the clients.
Efficient planning of training includes: correct setting of goals, choice of exercises and tools, frequency of training, and more. If just one of those aspects is not properly covered, the training goal can be missed completely. The right way to reach the training goal can only be found if all requests and expectations of the person to be trained are perceived, recognized and implemented.
The course "training planning" focuses specifically on the practical implementation of planning. However, theoretical background is also explained, for example, the four stages of adaptation of the human organism, the physiological effect of training and the interaction of load and stress. In addition, important contents of training theory are repeated and demonstrated with practical examples. Based on the practical exercises, it is shown: the correct choice of the load normatives (intensity, volume, density, duration, frequency), the importance of energy supply processes for different training areas and much more. The idea is to gain an understanding of the fact that there is no "golden recipe" for writing a training plan, instead, a high quality training plan can only be made by customizing it in detail to the requirements/wishes of each client.
For a crash course in training planning or to refresh the contents, it is worth taking a look at our online workshop 1x1 of training planning.
Foundational Full-body Exercises
Full-body exercises are an important part of training when it comes to strengthening the entire body.
Deadlifts, squats and bent-over rowing are three of the most important full-body exercises. These exercises get the body in shape, improve overall well-being and are therefore essential to know for a fitness trainer. They also help to increase endurance and strength.
The subject "full body workout" is very important, because it teaches participants the basics they need for all other types of exercises and workouts. Many people focus on training individual muscle groups, but that is not the most effective way to get the body in shape.
Full-body exercises are very effective, because they engage multiple muscle groups at once and make the workout more efficient. Still, these exercises are very demanding and open to mistakes. For this reason, we provide detailed instructions to our future fitness trainers, so that they can perform the exercises correctly and instruct their clients well.
The subject is very practice-oriented. Coaching is performed collectively within the group and important content is elaborated. Each exercise is designed to work a variety of muscle groups.
Knowledge of full-body exercises is an important subject for the fitness trainer license. Using this knowledge, trainers can help their clients to work out their bodies completely and therefore achieve best results.
Endurance Training
In training science, endurance describes a person's resistance to fatigue, i.e. how long a certain resistance can be withstood. A distinction is made between different forms of endurance, for example short-term endurance and long-term endurance.
One popular endurance sport is running. The sport has become more popular, especially due to COVID-19-related lockdowns. The advantages are obvious: you don't need a lot of equipment, you can run anytime and anywhere and different training methods can provide plenty of variety. However, many people are not aware of these training methods. They run just for the exercise and not with the aim of improving their own performance. Yet so much more is possible.
In order to achieve an adaptation, i.e. to last longer, withstand higher speeds, etc., a "training-effective stimulus" is required. Because we will only develop physically if we expose ourselves to stimuli that we are not yet up to. But where exactly is this effective training stimulus? Various performance tests, which are discussed in this subject, are suitable for finding out. The UKK Walking Test is one of them, which is primarily aimed at beginners and less able individuals and provides future fitness trainers with the basis for efficient endurance training planning.
In addition, the learning materials list various endurance training methods and their benefits so that anyone interested in endurance can put together the right training program. These include the endurance method, the cycling method, intensive and extensive intervals, and much more. The five load norms of duration, volume, intensity, density and frequency play an important role in triggering the training stimulus mentioned above.
Sensorimotor Training
The human body is a complex system of muscles, tendons, joints and bones that is constantly in motion.
Every movement initiates a reaction that affects other areas of the body. Sensorimotor training is a method that trains exactly such reaction chains in the body. Through specific training of the senses (such as the sense of balance, touch, sight and hearing) and motor skills (muscle strength, coordination, mobility), the interaction of body and mind is improved.
Sensorimotor regulation is the ability of the brain to control motor function and perception. Sensorimotor training originates from the field of physiotherapy. It aims to train sensorimotor regulation and is used, for example, after a stroke. However, it can also be used in competitive sports and fitness to improve motor skills.
In this subject, sensorimotor skills are developed to be used in the fitness instructor training. Practical strengthening exercises are performed using unstable surfaces such as balance boards/foams, gymnastic balls, ropes and slings.
Training on unstable surfaces, such as the one of the BOSU Ball, trains the proprioception, i.e. the perception of the own body and its movements. Any such exercise is a challenge for balance, coordination and strength and is therefore particularly effective.
Strength Training with Free Weights
Free weight training describes training with dumbbells and barbells and is an integral part of weight training. Health athletes, bodybuilders, team athletes, martial artists and all other exercisers have one thing in common: they benefit from training with free weights. This is the great relevance of the topic for all fitness trainers and personal trainers.
The main difference to guided strength training on large machines lies in the degrees of freedom of movement. As a result, not only is the coordinative effort greater, but a large number of auxiliary muscles, so-called synergists, are also activated in addition to the main muscles used. This increases the strain on the muscles and has a positive, stabilizing effect on the joints involved. As a result, the transfer of strength training to everyday life or sport-specific movements is greater, which subsequently leads to a lower risk of injury and a better performance result.
A practical example for comparison: the chest press on the machine primarily trains the pectoralis major muscle, the large chest muscle. Due to the predetermined direction of movement and the stabilized torso through the backrest, hardly any auxiliary muscles are activated. The muscle is therefore trained in isolation. Although this has a positive effect on the growth of the muscle, it has little effect on the transfer to everyday life. This is because in our daily lives we never use one muscle in isolation, it is always an interplay of several muscles, so-called muscle chains. The dumbbell bench press as a counter-example also primarily trains the pectoral muscle, but also requires the interaction of many other muscles in the surrounding area to ensure stability in the shoulder. As a result, the transfer to everyday or sport-specific movements is significantly better.
The disadvantage of free weight training is the risk of injury. To avoid injury, free strength training exercises must first be mastered perfectly before high loads are applied.
During the lectures of this course, various exercises with barbells and dumbbells are practiced and consolidated and supplemented with important coaching points to ensure both safe execution and correct instruction.
Functional Strength Training
In functional training several muscles are strengthened at the same time. Entire muscle groups/muscle chains are worked out. It is mainly focused on the coordination of the muscles, the interaction of the muscles with each other, the economization of the movements and the stability of the core.
Functional strength training is highly important because it can be integrated into daily life and is applicable to all sports. It is used in recreational and leisure sports, in competitive sports, in rehabilitation training and in preventive training. In addition, it can be practiced at any age.
Functional strength training involves training with unstable equipment and with the own body weight.
In this unit, our participants learn how to work with various equipment, such as the sling trainer, the pezzi ball, etc. and how to use them in functional training. They are shown different body weight exercises, different muscle chains and they are taught and how to train them selectively.
Module Specialization Personal Training
Strength Training with Free Weights 2
This course subject is a continuation of Strength Training with Free Weights 1, which is covered in the Fitness Trainer course. Additional exercises will be introduced for back, chest, shoulder, arm that were not covered in the first part.
A special focus is placed on thebarbellin this group of exercises. In comparison with the first part, the exercises in part 2 tend to display increased complexity and require not only more strength but more developedfocus and coordination skills.
The higher complexity of the exercises mean that such training is more challenging, and variations can train multiple muscle groups at once.
For examples, theOlympic weightlifting movements such as clean and jerk and snatch are introduced.
In addition, some variations of exercises are explored with a methodoligical approach for building variations.
Strength Training: Spine & Shoulder Girdle
Back pain and shoulder pain are among the most common problems for practitioners of strength training. In order to make an effort to combat these issues, a personal trainer has to understand potential causes that can lead to these problems.
A precise diagnosis can only be provided by a medical professional, obviously. In that case, it is certainly important that the personal trainer understand any such diagnoses and develop an optimal strength training programthat is appropriate for any previous condition or injury, or for the explicit purpose of preventing or avoiding problems for which the client is predisposed.
The infamous Shoulder Impingement Syndrome is a main topic. How can it be avoided and prevented, and what can be done when the symptoms are already being felt?
Does a client experience lower back pain? What are the absolute "no-gos" when training with back or spine conditions?
A rounding of the back and weak core can develop after years of poor posture - How can we train the upper back and strengthen the shoulder girdle in such instances, so we can work to correct the problem?
Theoretical content will revisit anatomy with these issues in mind and practical content will include exercises for practical application of knowledge. It will be carried out in two sessions.
One2One Training
In this unit covering One2One training the focus is on stretching and mobilization, and how you as a trainer can use this opportunity to learn and make evaluations about your client during this time.
The functional movement analysis, known also as a screen or the FMS is introduced as one possible approach to gain some insight into a trainees current physical state. As such, it serves as one way to gather "actual state" metrics.
Mobility, flexibility and a healthy and balanced range of motion is an important component of every sport and physical practice, and it can have a huge influence on liklihood of injury or overall performance. An appropriate stretching session can increase range of motion during exercise during training exercises, leading to better training adaptations. A post-training stretching routine can aid in regeneration and the maintainance of existing flexibility levels.
The palette of stretching types are introduced in this module, with various stretching techniques and their practical application. The use of a foam roller for certain methods is included.
Additionally, the crucial concepts of spotting and manual assistance are explained and put in practice. A discussion of important considerations for this close work with clients is carried out.
Functional Training and Functional Warm-up
Functional training from the Health Fitness Personal Trainer training program is an effective training method that has become increasingly popular in recent years.
It is a training method that aims to improve the body's performance and endurance. Many athletes and sportspeople use functional training to improve their performance. But more and more people who do not have an active lifestyle are also using functional training to stay fit and healthy. This is why functional training is an important part of this course. It not only helps to get the body in shape, but also to improve health.
In this subject, the basics of functional training from the fitness trainer course are repeated and how you can effectively integrate it into your personal training. Subsequently, a variety of functional exercises, with and without small equipment, are discussed and tried out. In addition, the structure and design of HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) units will be discussed and how these can be carried out most effectively in group training sessions.
You will also learn how to integrate functional training into personal training to achieve the best results for your future clients.
Training with Special Equipment
In the subject"Training with small fitness equipment" from the Health Fitness Personal Trainer course, course participants will learn about the latest trends in small fitness equipment.
The unit has a practical structure and offers participants the opportunity to try out various exercises and learn how to use the equipment correctly. Training with the fitness equipment improves coordination and balance skills. Body control and awareness are also trained.
For example, they can be used specifically for strength training or for endurance and coordination exercises. They are also very suitable for rehabilitation purposes.
You will also learn what you need to look out for with the respective equipment and how to use it. You will also be given tips on posture during exercise and the risk of injury.
This subject is ideal preparation for anyone working as a personal trainer.
High Intensity Training (HIT)
The most effective form of training for fast results HIT stands for High Intensity Training and should not be confused with HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training. The latter is primarily used to train strength endurance, while HIT is a special form of hypertrophy training .
High Intensity Training (HIT) is a high-intensity form of training in which short, intensive training sessions are carried out. This form of training is very strenuous and the recovery time after HIT training is correspondingly longer than with conventional volume training.
HIT saves time - but is very demanding The training is performed with 80 to 90 % of 1 RM, whereby 1 to 2 sets per muscle group should be enough to intensively strain the muscles. It is important to always perform the individual sets until muscle failure in order to provide the right stimulus in a single set, which can contribute to muscle growth.
HIT should not be done more than three times a week to give the muscles enough time to regenerate.
With a full-body workout - performed two days a week - the entire body can be trained in a single training session. If you don't have the strength for a full-body workout, simply split up the training and divide the different muscle groups into different days.
In this subject of the Health Fitness Personal Trainer course, you will also learn how a HIT unit is structured and what to pay particular attention to.
Kinesiology deals with the analysis of movement itself, while biomechanics examines the anatomy and physiology of movement. It can help improve performance, prevent injuries, and support rehabilitation after injuries. It can also aid in understanding the causes of musculoskeletal complaints and injuries.
In this course, the fundamentals of human anatomy and physiology are linked to the demands of modern training. The lecture is divided into several parts, with the general kinesiology being initially addressed. Special emphasis is placed on the analysis of movement patterns. This multipart lecture serves a deeper understanding of how the human body functions. Movements are broken down into their components to analyze them thoroughly and make statements about the forces at work.
Our Professional Health Fitness & Personal Trainers can analyze and measure movements, understand the psychological and physical factors affecting peak performance, and independently determine the requirements of different sports.
Furthermore, everyday and sports-related movements and their affecting forces are examined, shedding light on the effects of incorrect posture/technique on the body.
To experience all this firsthand, videos of one's own technique are filmed and analyzed using various fitness apps. Kinesiology and biomechanics are two essential areas in the Professional Health Fitness Personal Trainer Certification when it comes to analyzing human movement.
Strength Training: Lower Body (Knee & Hip Axis) Training
As an advanced lecture following the "Differentiated Strength Training for Spine and Shoulder Girdle" module in Health Personal Trainer, the focus here is on weaknesses and imbalances in the leg axis. Specifically, the anatomy of the knee, ankle, and hip joints is thoroughly discussed. Additionally, misalignments of the leg axis are illustrated, and their causes and effects on the musculoskeletal system are examined. In groups, familiar stereotypes for imbalances in the leg axis are discussed, and solutions are sought collaboratively.
The second part of the lecture involves familiarizing oneself with a test for determining leg axis and ankle joint stability: "Balance Error Scoring System (BESS)". With its help, weaknesses and imbalances can be localized, and ones performance can be compared with reference values of different age groups using a standardized table.
The final part of the class is practical. In addition to theory, practical examples are provided on how to train correctly when facing issues with the leg axis. This includes various strengthening and mobilization exercises to counteract any imbalances. The goal is to strengthen the leg muscles, stabilize the leg axis, and ideally combat misalignments altogether.
Plyometric training
Plyometric training is a high-intensity interval training that increases muscle strength and endurance. It is also known as "explosive strength training" because it involves a series of rapid, consecutive movements typically performed with the goal of propelling oneself off the ground.
The rapid alternation of muscle contraction and relaxation not only engages the muscles but also the tendons and ligaments. Through training, these structures are strengthened, subsequently reducing the risk of injury.
Plyometric training can be challenging for beginners, but with practice, it can become a powerful tool in the fitness arsenal. In this subject of the Professional Health Fitness Personal Trainer course, we will explore the fundamentals of plyometric training and introduce some exercises for participants to try.
Some examples of plyometric training include jump training using the Plyo-Box named after this training form, but there are also various ways to train upper body reactive power. One advantage of plyo training: you only need your own body weight. Most movement sequences are based on pure bodyweight exercises like squats, push-ups, and lunges - of course, in explosive or jumping variations.
It is a very effective training based on the stretch-shortening cycle of the muscles and to improve performance in many sports. This cycle leverages the muscle's stretch reflex and the associated stored energy to generate more force when the muscle is actively stimulated. It is particularly beneficial for sports that require speed and strength, such as jumping sports, American football, or athletics.
Plyometric training is a challenging form of exercise and should therefore be conducted under the guidance of an experienced trainer.
Creative training concepts
Everyone is on the lookout for the next big thing in the fitness industry. The latest trend, the newest supplement, the latest equipment - all promise to get us into the best shape of our lives.
Fitness trends come and go, but there's always something new waiting to be tried. In this unit from the Professional Health Fitness Personal Trainer course, participants will be introduced to various fitness trends such as the Hypoxi machine, Power Plate training, ladies' studios, various small fitness equipment, calisthenics, and many more.
We will take a closer look at each trend and consider whether they have the potential to truly get us in shape or if they are just the latest fad. We will also discuss which trends are suitable for different target groups and the risks associated with each trend. Participants can also contribute their own experiences with new developments in the fitness industry.
Currently, there are many different fitness trends circulating. Most of these trends aim to achieve as much success as quickly as possible. We will briefly discuss the history of each trend, the functioning of the devices or training, benefits, application methods, and, as the name of this unit suggests, criticisms.
This will allow participants to form their own opinions and decide whether the trend is worth it or if they prefer to stick with proven methods.
Weight reduction and management
Weight reduction and long-term weight management are important aspects of a healthy lifestyle. Excessive body weight can lead to many health problems such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. Therefore, maintaining a healthy body weight is crucial. There are countless methods and miracle remedies on the internet promising to achieve ones ideal weight within a short period. However, its not quite that simple in reality.
Weight reduction can be achieved through changes in eating and exercise habits. This includes reducing calorie intake and increasing physical activity. However, its important for weight reduction to occur slowly and steadily to ensure healthy and sustainable weight loss. Our graduates should be able to differentiate between efficient, healthy weight optimization and unrealistic or harmful methods, as well as guide individuals on the path to their ideal weight. Nutrition and exercise both play important roles in this process.
Its important to note that weight reduction and long-term weight management are individual and can vary from person to person. However, it requires time, effort, and commitment to achieve successful and lasting change.
Special target groups
Good training is never "one size fits all" - especially not when age, stage of life or performance level pose special requirements. in this subject, you will learn how to design training for special target groups safely, effectively and responsibly. You will develop a deep understanding of the physical, hormonal and psychological characteristics of different groups of people and put this knowledge into practice in your training sessions.
The course covers key target groups such as senior citizens, children and young people, women at different stages of life, ambitious clients and training during and after pregnancy. You will learn how to adapt training content to suit the age group and situation, how to manage stress levels sensibly and how to recognize typical risks at an early stage. The subject is supplemented by practical content on communication, empathy and motivation. You will learn how to build trust, coach individually and respond professionally to different needs. Case studies, specific training focal points and application tasks will help you to integrate what you have learned directly into your day-to-day training and successfully support your target groups in the long term.
A critical look at fitness trends
Fitness trends come and go, but only a few offer real added value for training, health and long-term success. in this course, you will learn to analyze and professionally evaluate current training, technology, nutrition and social media trends. The aim is to distinguish between scientifically sound methods and short-term marketing hype and to use trends in a targeted manner where they offer customers real benefits.
You will take an in-depth look at familiar and new forms of training such as functional training, HIIT, EMS, online coaching and digital fitness solutions. We will not only examine the practical application, but also their effectiveness, target group relevance, risks and economic feasibility in personal training.
Another focus is on strategic offer development: you will learn how to clearly define target groups, develop a convincing unique selling proposition (USP) and integrate trends into your own training or business concept in a meaningful way without being led by short-lived hype. With the help of practical examples, market and competitor analyses and concrete decision-making models, you will learn how to incorporate trends into your day-to-day work in a reflected, safe and sustainable way.
Business self-management
It's not enough to be good at what you do - if you want to be successful in the fitness sector in the long term, you also have to think like an entrepreneur and manage yourself professionally.in this subject, you will learn to understand the fitness market, clearly define your role as a trainer and entrepreneur and build an economically viable business.
You will gain a sound overview of the market structures in the Austrian and international fitness and health sector. You will learn how to realistically assess market opportunities, better understand target groups and strategically develop your own positioning. A special focus is placed on pricing, value argumentation and the professional handling of price pressure and discount requests.
In addition to business fundamentals, the focus is on your personal self-management. You will learn how to clearly formulate goals, set priorities and efficiently divide your time between training, customer care, acquisition and administration. Practical tools and methods will help you to organize your day-to-day work in a structured, stress-reduced and sustainable way.
The course is rounded off with practical tasks, case studies and reflections to help you transfer what you have learned directly into your own coaching business. The aim is to establish yourself not only as a trainer, but also as a self-confident entrepreneur in the market.

Your professional future - after your training
The role of a personal trainer
As a fitness and personal trainer, you accompany your customers on their way to achieving their personal goals. You create individual training plans, optimize workouts and provide valuable input on training and nutrition. At the same time, you are a motivator and ensure that each session is optimally tailored to the needs of your customers.
Personal training means direct contact with customers and can take place in a wide variety of environments - not just in the gym. That's why our training places great emphasis on movement patterns, instruction techniques and recognizing and safely correcting mistakes. After graduating from the FlexyFit Academy, you can work both independently and as an employee in fitness studios, sports and leisure facilities or healthcare facilities. You will also acquire comprehensive knowledge about the creative design of training sessions using various tools.
Salary prospects for personal trainers
As a fitness trainer in a permanent position, you can expect an annual gross salary of between €18,600 and €21,900 at the start. With increasing professional experience, your salary will rise to around €23,200 to €25,000 per year.
If you work as a self-employed personal trainer, your income will depend on the number of clients you have and your pricing. You should also take into account possible costs such as room rental - alternatively, you can also work with home visits or outdoor training.
Fields of work for personal trainers
After your fitness trainer training, there are many career opportunities open to you. You can work in fitness studios, physiotherapy centers, sports and wellness hotels or other health facilities. Self-employment as a personal trainer is also an attractive option. You can carry out your training sessions in the studio, at home, at the customer's premises or outdoors. With your training at the FlexyFit Sports Academy, you can shape your career path in the sports sector flexibly and practically.
Support with your job search from FlexyFit
You can regularly find current vacancies in the fitness industry on our sports career platform. There you can apply directly for jobs as a fitness trainer, branch manager, instructor or studio employee.
Funding - how it works
Can you get funding for your training?
There are numerous funding options for your training at the FlexyFit Sports Academy. State-specific funding, EU funding and tax benefits can help you to financially support your fitness trainer training or personal trainer training.
Please note that the respective funding body alone decides on the allocation and amount of funding.
We will be happy to help you find a suitable funding body and provide you with all the course information you need for your funding application. You submit the application itself directly to the relevant funding body.
Depending on the funding institution, the costs of your training will either be covered directly after a confirmed funding application (e.g. AMS) or reimbursed to you in full or in part after you have successfully completed your training (e.g. waff). Please contact the respective funding institute directly to find out exactly how the financing of your training works.
The licensing model in the fitness industry began to take hold in the 1980s. The exact timing may vary by region, but the growing popularity of fitness and health training led to a sharp increase in demand for qualified professionals. This made it necessary to set standards for the training of trainers and to recognize their qualifications.
The development of the licensing model was largely driven by the professionalization and growth of the fitness industry. Particularly in countries such as the USA, Germany and other Western European countries, a system of certificates and licenses was introduced to ensure that fitness trainers had in-depth knowledge in areas such as anatomy, training theory, nutrition and safety.
In Germany, for example, the B license was introduced as a basic qualification for fitness trainers, followed by higher levels such as the A license. The aim of introducing such models was to ensure quality and safety in the fitness sector and to provide consumers with guidance when choosing a competent trainer. Since then, the license model has continuously evolved to meet the growing demands and new trends in the fitness sector.
The licensing models (C-, B-, A-) are widely used in the fitness industry, but are not state-recognized qualifications for fitness trainers. They are awarded by private educational institutions or fitness associations and depend on their reputation. They are considered professional qualifications, but not formal state qualifications. Unfortunately, the licensing models are not standardized and are therefore difficult to compare between individual private training providers. They are generally graded according to learning level, starting with the C license.
Will the sports competence module count towards the price of further training courses if I have already completed it?
The sports competence module is not included several times in our training courses. If you have already completed the module, the examination will of course be recognized. This does not result in a price reduction, as the module is not charged again in further training courses. Your advantage: You save time and can concentrate on new content.
What is Blended Learning?
Blended Learning means that a portion of the course is carried out completely online, with digital media and online exames, and a portion of the course takes place as in-person or classroom units. The theory subjects from our "Basic Knowledge Module" can be completed as online (distance) learning using our video lessons from home.
After registering for one of our courses you will receive access data for the Online Academy Account, and you can begin viewing the online lessons right away. Blended Learning is ideal for those with busy schedules and active professional lives.
What is the difference between a "Diploma" and an "A-License" course?
Flexyfit uses two terms for the highest level of various courses in German-speaking countries, and the difference between "Diploma/Diplom" and "A-License/Lizenz" lies only in the name. In Germany the term "Diplom" (diploma) is protected terminology that can only be used by certain educational institutions ("Hochschule") For this reason, we use the term "A-License", a much more widespread term. In Austria, the term "Diplom" (diploma) can be used when an appropriate education is undergone, however.
Regardless of the "Diploma Conundrum", our courses build on each other, such that a C-License is very preliminary and introductory, a B-License is more in-depth and an A-License represents a the highest, most comprehensive level of the specific course. Whether your certificate of completion for a course has printed A-License or Diploma will depend on the country in which you are located and your chosen language.
What is the difference between A-License and B-License?
The Diploma/A-License is an extended version of the B-License training.
We recommend the B-license above all to optimize your own training or to deal with the topics for a healthy life. The A-license training courses are well suited to starting a career in the respective field.
The training to become afitness trainer B licenseis completed as a purely distance learning course, i.e. the entire course can be completed from home.
How do the courses work?
All of our courses comprise the following 8 Steps:

Completion of your practical/oral exams: after your theory exams are successfully passed, you can register for your practical (oral) final exam(s). You decide when you are ready. Regular exam dates take place at the exam locations.
How your knowledge is tested: multiple choice subject exams and final exams
After successfully completing your exams, you will receive your certificate
Are there prerequisites for participating in the courses?
In general, there are no prerequisites for course or workshop participation.
German/Austrian Matura (secondary school university-prep exams) or similar certificates are not required. You also do not need any specific previous knowledge, since we build all of our courses up from a basic knowledge module, the Fitness Fundamentals, so you have a firm understanding of important fundamental subjects like anatomy and physiology. These subjects prepare you for the specific modules of your course.
We do recommend that you take an exercise fitness test or similar if you are uncertain about your ability to participate in all practical exercises in the classroom or independently.
We also recommend that if you wish to enroll in a course in German that you have a German competency level of at least B2 (CEFR), since the course material can be somewhat complex for certain subjects.
If you are not yet 18 years of age, we require a letter of content from a parent or guardian to purchase and participate in a course.
What study materials will I receive?
When you register for a course you will receive access information for your Online Academy Account, where all of your course materials can be found. That is where you will find Course Texts & Presentations that are used in the lessons, as well as the super helpful visual study material, our Online Video Lessons.
You are welcome to try out our Demo Access, the Free Trial of our online learning platform, in order to have a look at our course contents and material: FREE TRIAL

Obviously, you do not have to complete the subjects from the Basic Knowledge Module again once you have already done so in your previous course, and your new course will be at a reduced cost!

Please provide us with a doctors note (sick note), and we will enable a function on your online Academy Account so you can independently book a replacement session at no charge.
Does the content of a fitness education differ depending on the institution?
It can be somewhat difficult to compare educational institutions in the areas of fitness, health and exercise, since they have the freedom to decide what the content of their courses is and where they put the focus in their education, as well as what they call their certificatons. One option is to compare the course units and the contents of the various subjects. If you need help, we are happy to consult with you at any time!
When paying with an installment plan, a minimum 600€ down payment is required. Online Courses do not require down payment.
from 1000€ up to 2000€: 5 monthly installments possible
from 2001€ up to 3000€: 10 monthly installments possible
from 3001€ and up: 15 monthly installments possible (no interest, no fees).
Can the bill be made out to a company?
Yes, of course that's possible! Just provide the details of the company for the bill.
We will write up the bill with the provided information for you.
Can I receive financial aid or grants for my course?
Our courses are appropriate for many financial support and grant programs. Whether your course is financed by such an institution or program is not up to us, however. The financial aid institution will decide if they will support your education with us. We are happy to provide you with the course information that the financial aid institution requires for an application. You are responsible for the application for financial aid or grants.
An overview of the most relevant support institutions can be found here.
If I am approved for financial aid from an institution do they take over my course costs immediately?
Depending on the funding institution, either the cost of your course will be taken over immediately (e.g. AMS) or you will be responsible for your course costs during your study and receive repayment of those costs after successful course completion (e.g. waff). Please inform yourself of the exact stipulations of funding with your institution.

Keep an eye on our Special Offers page or just ask the Flexyfit team during your advising session.
What do the certifications EN ISO 9001, ÖNORM D1501, TÜV certified courses and Ö-Cert mean?
TÜV EN ISO 9001 The Austrian certification agency TÜV Austria Cert GmbH has certified our quality management system, and we have been awarded the specific certificatin for EN ISO 9001. The means that the internal structures of our educational institution are certified.
TÜV-certified courses As already mentioned, there are not specific standards set for the content of fitness and wellness education. On our own initiative we have sought out this certification and offer courses that have been inspected in terms of the course contents, instructor qualifications and exam procedure. We want to stand out from competitors in this respect and guarantee the quality of our course contents.
TÜV ÖNORM D1501 The course Wellness & Fitness Personal Trainer has met the specifications of this standardization norm. This certification stipulates the course units, practical hours, and the course content.
Ö-Cert There are several providers who describe their courses as "certified according to Ö-Cert". One could incorrectly assume that the entire course is certified. A layperson might mistakenly believe here that the entire course is certified. Unfortunately, this is not correct. Anyone who receives Ö-Cert as a training provider has certification as a quality provider in adult education and is thus listed with funding agencies for funding applications in Austria.

Of particular interest are the origins and insertions of the individual muscles. So that you can best prepare for the exams, you can find the vocabulary for parts of the body, locations, directions and sizes throughout the presentations and texts for anatomy. Both Latin and common terms for bones, muscles, parts of the body and directions are used throughout the texts and videos.
How do I know if I am ready for an exam?
For each online subject exam you have one dummy exam (practice test) at your disposal. This exam is just like a real exam. The final grade does not get saved in your records and calculated in your final grade. You can use this dummy exam to get an impression of the format as well as the contents of the subject exam. This can help you evaluate if you are ready to take the exam.

The examiner awards points for each question. The student must receive a minimum of 50% of the total possible points in order to successfully pass the exam.
The exam location and time can be booked via the Academy Account, where you can also complete online theory exams and, where applicable, upload documented practical hours or tasks .

In order to pass an exam, you must earn a minimum of 50% of the available points. The grading scale is as follows:
with excellence ( 90 -100% of possible points)
with high honors (80 - 89% of possible points)
with honors (70 -79% of possible points)
satisfactory completion (50 - 69% of possible points)
fail (below 50% of possible points)
What happens if I fail the exam?

(Packages Premium and VIP include additional attempts in the course costs.) After failing the first attempt, allow our system 2-3 days to make your second attempt available to you. If you fail both attempts, additional fees are required for the additional attempts. These fees vary depending on the type of exam.

Great training and super nice people. You can tell how much emphasis is placed on conveying the necessary knowledge to the course participants in an understandable way. I was even kindly allowed to take a course completely free of charge after there were somewhat problematic and disruptive participants in my group. I will 100% take more courses with you in the future because learning is extremely fun, especially thanks to the friendly staff!
The entire flexyfit team is extremely friendly, prompt and helpful. The lecturers are competent and respond to the course participants. All learning materials were provided clearly and in sufficient detail. The additional videos mean there is something for every type of learner. All in all, the training and exam went well. I can definitely recommend flexyfit and will be happy to book and recommend further training courses with you again!
I really enjoyed training to become a B-license fitness trainer there. The teaching materials provided are great and flawless. I learned a lot of new things there and always enjoyed what I was doing. The team is great and is always there for you if you have any questions!
The best thing that could have happened to me is this academy. Access to participants is excellent. All employees are very competent, very professional and very friendly. A person can learn so much that it is indescribably good. I would recommend it to everyone. When I arrived in Austria I was looking for something like this and luckily I found this academy and signed up for the course without hesitation. Everything we get in return is worth 100 times more than what we pay. Indescribable experience, indescribable people, once again and 1000 times I say: Thank you for everything, thank you for this indescribable experience. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU
I was able to learn a lot of new things as part of my training at the Flexyfit Academy and was able to take on a new, demanding challenge with my chosen course. The structure of the training courses is very understandable and clear, so that you can master the distance learning course on your own without any problems. If there were any questions, ambiguities or isolated problems, the Academy team was always quick to help and we could always find a common solution. Here and there I would have liked a little more practical relevance. Nevertheless, I always felt very comfortable, had great speakers and with my degree as a qualified medical sports coach, many new doors are now open to me :)
I was able to complete my chosen course very well and quickly. The team is very quick and courteous and you are always offered a good solution if there are any uncertainties. I will book again when I get the chance and can recommend the academy!
Training at Flexyfit was the best decision; I learned a lot about sport and nutrition. The support was always there, very competent and nice staff/trainers. I will definitely recommend the Academy. Especially thanks to Melanie, Sarah and Daniel
A really demanding training, great material, the videos are great, the script complements it well. The structure is very sensible and you can find your way around easily. I just find the proportionality of the yoga license compared to the Pilates license unfavorable. Many more exams are required for the yoga license. The final exam for the yoga license is also significantly more difficult; in my opinion, questions need to be reconsidered.
Thank you Flexyfit - very competent, great documents and support. The practical exercises in Innsbruck were TOP - thank you Matthias. I can only recommend. I will continue. 😉
Very high quality training! The Flexyfit Academy tried very hard to answer and explain in detail all the questions that arose during the training. Can I definitely recommend!
Absolutely satisfied! I chose distance learning because I couldn't be there in person, and I highly recommend it! Everything worked smoothly, contact was quick and a solution was always found if there were any problems. The team is super friendly and the profile overview is very clear. A small suggestion: It would be helpful if users who are inactive for a long time received a reminder or if an app were available so that they could learn on the go.
I was very positively surprised by the training! The distance learning course was very uncomplicated and the service was also perfect! The materials were very good and I learned a lot! I can recommend it with a clear conscience! Update 2024: Now that I have completed my third training course, I can only confirm my first assessment! As a full-time worker, it was a great opportunity for me to do part-time training that corresponds to my passion! I regularly read books on the subject of sport and health, and I have to say that the training courses everywhere are very good and up to date! That surprised me somewhat positively! =) Thanks to Flexyfit I can now turn my hobby into a career! So another clear recommendation from me!
A great training program that is offered there, with a very friendly and competent team. It was a pleasure to learn with your very well prepared videos and scripts. I'm already looking forward to my next training. I'm already looking forward to my next training. I can only highly recommend it, I definitely give it 5 stars.
I did the children's trainer training at Flexyfit. From the very beginning you receive great support and the communication is perfect. Everyone is hardworking and friendly. Everything worked perfectly online and on site. It definitely won't be the last training or workshop I do with you. I am looking forward to meet you again. Thanks to Daniel, Melanie and Beno :-)
Flexible learning made easy :) Very competent and friendly. Very quick answers to questions and I would recommend Flexyfit to anyone who wants to do training in the sports sector 💪🏾
I have already completed two correspondence courses and I can say that continuing my education with the Flexyfit courses is simply fun. You learn at your own pace and are flexible in terms of time and location.
I have now completed two training courses at the Flexyfit Academy and would do it again in a heartbeat. If possible, I recommend the face-to-face courses, they simply result in a really exciting exchange. Service and support are top and all needs are taken into account. Mini drawback: the online learning system is not entirely straight-forward, but you get used to it quickly.
➕ Good institute with a great online academy and a wide range of training options. I have already completed 3 training courses there. I like the modular structure, so that various basic modules can also be used for other training courses. ➖ Unfortunately, the price structure has been adjusted so that (basic) modules that have already been completed can no longer be deducted from the price. A pity.
I have already completed two training courses at the Flexyfit Sports Academy and am completely satisfied! A super nice team, the organization and documents are top - can only be recommended ;)
Great team! The organization of the training is uncomplicated and very competent. The speakers are professional and experienced and bring a good mix of theory and practice. Overall, only recommended.
Incredibly friendly team, always available, incredibly helpful and trying very hard to find a solution for everything. The learning videos and scripts are well prepared and easy to follow. I was personally able to learn the most from the really good tutors in the practical part. Overall, you get a very good overview and insight into the relevant subject areas. The course also showed me personally where I would like to orient myself further and which areas I would like to deepen in depth. In addition: well-equipped teaching halls and very attractive rooms - everything is very inviting and familiar. Every now and then you see someone from the team just coming back from running or the weight room - that makes you feel right away! (Training: Dipl. Medical Sports Supervisor)
I am very satisfied, I had a TOP professor (which is not a given these days). I think it's great that as a nutrition trainer you also have to learn anatomical subjects (it's called sports competence). The support was great too. Very helpful team! All in all I'm very satisfied.
Super fast and nice service! Every question answered immediately and in a pleasant and appreciative way! What would be better would be more time for face-to-face teaching!
My training at Flexyfit Sport Academy... I received the best support and advice from the most competent, friendly and successful team. Many thanks to the top team (office, speakers and coaches). It was a great pleasure for me to walk with you on the path to realizing my own goals.
For all coaches who want to absorb detailed knowledge in one or more areas. I'm just very enthusiastic about the Flexyfit Sport Acamedy and felt like I was in great hands with the trainers. The enthusiasm was so palpable even during the Zoom workshops. Regardless of whether you prefer to read the script or watch the accompanying videos, there is a medium for every type of learner and the learning material is extremely well prepared. And should any questions arise, the “Customer Service” is there super quickly and responds after a few hours or is there to give advice.
Simply great and very, very nice. All the employees from the Flexyfit Sports Academy team are so nice, courteous and helpful. Help is available within minutes to an hour if questions arise while learning online. It's a lot to learn, but it shows that trainer training, no matter the subject, requires a certain foundation and I personally think it's exactly right. For me, this shows quality and that not every self-proclaimed professional is also a connoisseur and expert. Be careful with who and where you train! It is our body and every person should pay attention to it and have the “right” trainer with specialist knowledge at their side. I can only recommend Flexyfit Sports Academy. Many thanks to all Flexyfit Sports Academy employees, you are great!!!!!
Incredibly helpful staff! Even worked especially for me on public holidays and made appointments, very accommodating and supportive. Absolutely recommended and happy :)
The training (Dipl. Health Fitness & Personal Trainer) is really great, if I had a problem I was always helped very quickly. The videos in conjunction with the scripts are very helpful and well designed, the training overall is well structured, including the intermediate exams, practice tasks, etc. This consolidates what you have learned even better! The lecturers are also very competent and my two examiners were very friendly and relaxed, so there was no reason to be nervous. All in all highly recommended!

I can fully recommend the Flexyfit Sports Academy. The training I completed here exceeded my expectations. If you are looking for a place where you can achieve your sporting goals, this is the place. The Academy deserves top marks and I look forward to further training in the future.
The training to become a qualified fitness trainer was very instructive and interesting. The modules are carefully structured and go from theory to practice. The whole training was uncomplicated. Service perfect, I can only recommend the Academy. Melanie and Sarah thank you for everything! Simply great!
