About Matthias

Matthias Steiner is one of Germany's best-known weightlifters - Olympic champion, European champion and world champion. His moment of gold at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, when he lifted over 250 kilos into the air, went around the world. But behind this historic victory lies a story of extraordinary willpower, discipline and emotional strength.

Born in Austria, Matthias decided early on to pursue a career in weightlifting. With iron work and an unwavering focus, he fought his way to the top of the world - even after serious setbacks, injuries and personal losses. His sporting career is a prime example of what mental strength and determination can achieve.

Today, Matthias Steiner uses his experience to inspire others - as a speaker, author, coach and entrepreneur. On his platform steinertainment.com, he conveys a modern understanding of health, fitness and inner strength. In doing so, he remains true to his sporting roots: the barbell.

Workshop: Weightlifting as the basis of many sports

In recent years, the barbell has disappeared from many fitness studios. Instead of functional whole-body movements, machines and isolated exercises dominate. Yet classic weightlifting is one of the most effective methods of building real, everyday strength.

In this workshop, Matthias Steiner shows how barbell training can benefit not only competitive athletes, but also fitness beginners, athletes from other disciplines and coaches. Because:

  • Weightlifting trains the whole body - efficiently, functionally and sustainably.
  • The technique trains mobility, coordination and body awareness.
  • The exercises are directly transferable to other sports such as athletics, soccer, CrossFit or martial arts.

Learn from an Olympic champion what real strength means.
