Color theory

Colors are omnipresent: in our reflection in the mirror, in nature, in clothing and make-up. But only when we understand their effect on people and know how they relate to each other can we use them consciously. This is exactly where color theory comes in.

To begin with, you will get to know the color wheel. It shows how colors are related to each other and which combinations have a harmonious or contrasting effect. Whether warm or cool, soft or strong - every color carries a certain mood . You will learn how these moods are used in make-up to create radiance, freshness or depth.

In the next step, you will focus on color analysis. You will observe the skin undertone, eye color and hair structure in order to recognize which color nuances make a face appear lively. It's about noticing differences that seem inconspicuous at first glance, but play a major role in the overall picture.

In the practical part of the type consultation, you will get to know the classic color types, such as the spring, summer, autumn and winter types. Step by step, you will learn how to clearly classify people and choose suitable make-up colors. The aim is to choose colors not just because they look "beautiful", but because they emphasize the natural personality. at the end of this unit, you will not only have theoretical knowledge, but also a trained eye. You will develop a feel for which shades harmonize in make-up and how you can use color in a targeted way to create a look that is lively, harmonious and expressive.

  • BASICS OF COLOR THEORY

    • Primary, secondary and tertiary colors
    • Color temperatures: warm, cool, neutral
    • Brightness, saturation & tonal value
    • Color perception and tone differentiation

    COLOR WHEEL & HARMONIES

    • History of color theory - different models and approaches
    • Structure of the classic color wheel
    • Complementary colors and their effect
    • Use of color harmonies in makeup
    • Balance between skin undertone, outfit and occasion

    COLOR ANALYSIS & TYPE THEORY

    • Determination of skin undertone & pigmentation
    • Classification into seasonal and mixed types
    • Type-appropriate color selection for eyes, lips and complexion
    • Limits of type consultation - individual adjustments
Facial analysis

How does a face change when light and shadow are used in a targeted way? This is exactly where facial analysis comes in: it is about consciously perceiving proportions and understanding the influence of make-up on the shape of the face. You will learn to recognize and distinguish between different face shapes such as oval, round, angular, heart-shaped or long. This is the basis for working specifically with light and shadow later on.

The aim of any make-up design is to create harmonious and balanced proportions. In make-up artistry, the oval face is considered ideal, as its lines appear soft and even. With the help of contouring and highlighting techniques , you can visually approximate other face shapes to this ideal.

An important part of the unit is taking a close look at individual parts of the face. You analyze the distance between the eyes, the shape and height of the eyebrows, the proportions of the forehead, cheeks and chin as well as the lines of the bridge of the nose. The shape of the lips and jawline also play a role. All these details determine how a face looks: soft, striking, open or rather compact.

Train your eye for subtle differences and develop a confident, professional sense of proportion. The result is make-up that emphasizes your personality and shapes your overall appearance.

  • BASICS OF FACIAL ANALYSIS

    • Overview of facial symmetries
    • Division of the 3 facial zones
    • Ideal image of the oval face and its relevance
    • Proportions and harmonies in the face

    • Typical characteristics and possible visual effects
    • Analysis of forehead, cheek and chin areas
    • Face charts & measurement exercises

ANALYSIS OF INDIVIDUAL PARTS OF THE FACE

    • Eyes: Eye distance, eyelid shapes
    • Eyebrows: Measurement, shape determination, balance in the face
    • Nose: length, width, upward and downward inclination
    • Lips: Shape and volume
    • Cheekbones: position & effect

CORRECTIONS & TECHNIQUES FOR THE RESPECTIVE SHAPES

    • Contouring strategies for shape adjustment
    • Highlighting for emphasis and harmonization
    • Goal: Creating a balanced, oval-looking overall shape
Skin theory

When we talk about skin , most people first think of skincare products, make-up or their own reflection in the mirror in the morning. But the skin is much more than just our outer covering. It is the largest organ in our body, our protective shield, a sensory organ and an expression of our health.

In skin science, you will learn about the anatomical structure of the skin and its individual layers. You will learn how it works, what tasks it performs and why it sometimes reacts sensitively to external influences. You will learn how to recognize different skin types and understand which skincare and make-up products are suitable for which skin type. Another important part of the course is how to deal with skin irritations and allergies. You will learn how to recognize allergic reactions, how to deal with them responsibly and how to select products that support the skin instead of burdening it.

This practical unit helps you not only to see the skin, but to really understand it. This will enable you to apply type-appropriate make-up that highlights rather than conceals - while keeping the health and well-being of your customers in mind.

You will learn which shape and texture of a brush creates which effect and which brush is best for applying creamy, powdery or liquid textures. Because every product can only be applied beautifully if the right tool is used.

You will also take a closer look at different make-up textures . Powder, cream, gel, liquid and stick products. You will learn which textures combine well with each other, how they behave on the skin and how to apply them so that they look natural and last a long time. This also includes how to remove products correctly in order to use them hygienically and sparingly.

Another focus is the correct handling of the material. You will practise how to clean brushes, store products and prepare your work set so that you can work efficiently, cleanly and professionally, and the aim of this unit is for you to not only know your tools, but to master them. In this course, you will learn how to create make-up that lasts a long time and can withstand emotional moments. You will work with fixing techniques as well as suitable textures and products that can withstand tears, hugs, weather and many hours without any problems. At the same time, you make sure that the look is fresh, natural and timeless, because wedding photos last a lifetime. You will work on bridal looks that are true to type: from classic and elegant to modern and clean to light boho variations. Not only the face, but also the personality, style, skin type and overall impression of the wedding day play a role. An important focus is on dealing sensitively with the bride. You will learn to listen to her, pick up on her insecurities, work out her wishes and create a calm, professional setting.

Eyeliner looks

Eyeliner can open, emphasize, elongate or add depth to the eye - provided it is applied correctly. The eyeliner looks subject is all about lines, expression and precision.

First, you will get to know different techniques: the classic, fine liner for everyday and business use, the curved wing for more expression and the modern graphic liner for creative looks. The different eye shapes play a central role here. You will analyze how eye shape, eyelid crease and lash line affect the effect of an eyeliner and how to adjust the line so that it visually supports the eye.

You will also learn about product science: gel, liquid and pencil liners have different properties and areas of application. You will learn when to use which liner, how to apply it in a controlled manner and how to make corrections cleanly and professionally. Photo/film make-up

With photo and film make-up, the decisive factor is how the make-up looks under the camera, light and resolution. What looks natural in the mirror may appear too pale, too shiny or too low-contrast in photos. In this subject, you will learn how to design makeup so that it looks professional and clear both live and in pictures.

First, you will look at the differences to everyday or event makeup. You will learn how studio lighting, flash and HD cameras show the skin and which techniques are necessary to keep contours visible, control shine and reproduce colors correctly. Another focus is on business portraits and professional shoots, where the emphasis is on naturalness and seriousness. Men's make-up is also covered. The aim here is to even out irregularities without looking "made up" and to create a well-groomed, authentic complexion .

In practice, you will work under realistic conditions. You will apply make-up under time pressure, prioritize the most important steps and work quickly and cleanly. You will practise how to adjust looks efficiently, react to changes in light and analyze results directly on the monitor.

  • BASICS & DIFFERENCES TO LIVE MAKEUP

    • Requirements for photo, film & business shoots
    • Effect of light, camera, HD resolution
    • Analysis of typical shooting situations (indoor/outdoor, flash/no flash)

Corrective make-up

Corrective make-up is the targeted covering and balancing of skin irregularities. You will learn to analyze different skin types and select the appropriate products and techniques for blemishes, scars, redness or pigmentation disorders. You will apply color theory directly. Which shades neutralize redness? Which tones make pale skin glow? How can you achieve an even, natural complexion without a mask effect?

Another focus is on concealing and emphasizing individual areas of the face. You will learn how to visually optimize the nose, lips, cheeks and eyes without looking unnatural. Best ager make-up for the 60+ generation is also covered. The focus here is on suitable textures, gentle transitions and techniques that support mature skin instead of emphasizing it.

Communication with customers is also important. How do I speak sensitively and positively about skin issues without reinforcing insecurities? How do I convey suggestions in a professional and respectful manner? In the practical part, you will create before-and-after looks in which you apply the techniques you have learned in a targeted manner. You will train to incorporate corrections precisely, naturally and harmoniously.

    • Creating before and after looks
    • Working on different models
    • Combining several correction techniques for a harmonious overall look
Smokey Eye, Halo Eye & Cut Crease

Dramatic eye looks thrive on technique, precision and a good feel for shapes. In this subject, you will focus on three expressive eye make-up variations: smokey eye, halo eye and cut crease.

First, you will learn to recognize and analyse different eye shapes. You will learn what influence the eyelid crease, eyebrow arch, lash line and eye distance have on the effect of a look. It's not just about "recreating" a style, but also about understanding which look supports which eye shape. When does a halo eye open up the gaze? When is a smokey eye flattering and when is it oppressive? How do you create a cut crease so that the eye is clearly defined?

You will then work through the looks step by step. You will learn how to build up colors, blend transitions softly and draw clean lines. The sequence, product consistency and brush technique are important here - small details with a big effect. You will practise all three variations in detail and then apply them creatively. You can experiment with color intensity, textures and shimmer to adapt the looks to different types and occasions.

The aim of this unit is for you to not only be able to apply eye makeup, but also to understand and consciously create it. This will enable you to create looks that emphasize eye shape, enhance expression and reveal personality.

    PRACTICE & CREATIVE WORK

    • Practice of the three variants using clear process structures
    • Individual adaptation to models with different eye shapes
    • Creative interpretation of the looks with colors, effects and variations
Day makeup

Day make-up should look light, fresh and accompany you in everyday life without appearing artificial. First, you will learn the basics: you will learn to recognize different skin types, prepare the skin correctly and measure the face so that proportions and highlights can be deliberately set. A good base is crucial to how natural and harmonious the result looks.

Building on this, you will create natural make-up looks for everyday life and work. You will learn how to emphasize the complexion, eyes and lips so that the face looks lively without appearing overly made up. The topic of eyeglass make-up is also covered. How do I make up the eyes so that they stand out clearly behind the spectacle frame? Which color and shading techniques support the facial features?

In the practical part , you will work directly with a model. You will create two complete looks with variations to gain confidence in the application. You will try out various basic techniques, test products and practise using brushes and textures. The aim of this unit is for you not only to know the basics, but also to be able to apply them: an even complexion, softly accentuated eyes and a natural overall look that emphasizes your individual beauty. Here you will lay the foundation for all further make-up techniques.

In customer-oriented work, you will learn how to communicate professionally, respectfully and clearly with customers. You will learn how to recognize wishes, correctly assess expectations and find out what the other person really needs by asking specific questions. Language is a key aspect of this: technical terms are helpful in the classroom, but can quickly become confusing when talking to customers. You will therefore learn to explain content in a way that is easy to understand without losing your expertise.

One sensitive topic is how to deal with skin blemishes, scars or signs of ageing. Here it is important to remain respectful and empathetic. Instead of emphasizing problems, the focus is on demonstrating ways to accentuate existing beauty. You will practise how to give honest advice without offending and how to give customers a positive feeling .

You will also be given tools for dealing with uncertainty, dissatisfaction or difficult conversational situations : How do I stay calm? How do I formulate feedback in an appreciative way? How do I professionally steer a conversation back to a common solution? This subject strengthens your communication skills and makes you confident in direct contact. Before you can create make-up, you need to know which materials to work with and how to use them correctly, and you will learn about different brushes and tools, including foundation and eyeshadow brushes as well as spatulas, eyelash curlers and sponges.

You will work on bridal looks that are true to type: from classic and elegant to modern and clean to light boho variations. Not only the face, but also the personality, style, skin type and overall impression of the wedding day play a role. An important focus is on dealing sensitively with the bride.

  • BASICS

    • Eye shapes and their special features
    • Influence of eyelid crease, eye distance, brow shape and proportions
    • Correction options through the targeted use of light and shadows

THEORETICAL STRUCTURE OF THE EYE LOOKS

    • Smokey eye: intense gradient, soft edges, depth effect
    • Halo eye: centered points of light, soft transitions, optical rounding
    • Cut crease: clear edges, precise definition, opening of the gaze
    • Choosing the right technique for different eye shapes

    STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS & TECHNIQUES

    • Preparation of the eyelid (primer, colour neutralization, setting)
    • Layering textures (cream, powder, shimmer, matte)
    • Building depth, shape and intensity
    • Finishing details: liner, lashes, lower lash line

  • BASICS & PREPARATION

    • Skin types and their needs
    • Facial measurement and analysis
    • Correct skin preparation - care, primer, tools

DAY MAKE-UP FOR EVERYDAY LIFE & WORK

    • Eye make-up for a fresh appearance
    • Eyebrows: natural shaping & type-appropriate adjustment
    • Natural foundation techniques
    • Eyeglass make-up: corrections depending on lens strength, frame shape and focus zones

    APPLICATION IN PRACTICE

    • Adaptation to different skin types and face shapes
    • Development of a complete day look
    • Reflection and fine-tuning of the results

Great training and super nice people. You can tell how much emphasis is placed on conveying the necessary knowledge to the course participants in an understandable way. I was even kindly allowed to take a course completely free of charge after there were somewhat problematic and disruptive participants in my group. I will 100% take more courses with you in the future because learning is extremely fun, especially thanks to the friendly staff!

The best thing that could have happened to me is this academy. Access to participants is excellent. All employees are very competent, very professional and very friendly. A person can learn so much that it is indescribably good. I would recommend it to everyone. When I arrived in Austria I was looking for something like this and luckily I found this academy and signed up for the course without hesitation. Everything we get in return is worth 100 times more than what we pay. Indescribable experience, indescribable people, once again and 1000 times I say: Thank you for everything, thank you for this indescribable experience. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU

I was able to learn a lot of new things as part of my training at the Flexyfit Academy and was able to take on a new, demanding challenge with my chosen course. The structure of the training courses is very understandable and clear, so that you can master the distance learning course on your own without any problems. If there were any questions, ambiguities or isolated problems, the Academy team was always quick to help and we could always find a common solution. Here and there I would have liked a little more practical relevance. Nevertheless, I always felt very comfortable, had great speakers and with my degree as a qualified medical sports coach, many new doors are now open to me :)
