About Halil

My path in sport: Halil Yilmaz

Hello, my name is Halil Yilmaz, born on December 3, 1985 in Vienna. Ever since I was a child, I have had a deep connection to sport, especially water. I discovered my passion for swimming at a young age and it has remained an important companion to this day. With this enthusiasm for sport, I felt the desire to turn my passion into a profession at an early age.

My beginnings

As a child, I began my sporting career in a swimming club, where I quickly realized that sport requires not only exercise, but also discipline, structure and dedication. Swimming has always fascinated me and it became a central part of my life. Between the ages of 10 and 16, I expanded my sporting repertoire and played both soccer and basketball.

At 18, I completed my first half marathon, which eventually led me to running. But 2010 was a decisive year in my sporting career - I took part in my first Ironman 70.3. Despite a bike crash after 24 kilometers and a damaged rear wheel, I finished the race. This triumph over adversity sparked my love of triathlon. Since then, I have run countless triathlons, ultramarathons and obstacle races such as Wildsau and Spartan Races.

My qualifications and experience

Over the years, I have completed numerous training and further education courses to deepen my knowledge and offer my athletes the best possible training:
HIIT and Crossfit instructor
Certified indoor cycling trainer
Certified swimming coach
Calisthenics instructor with a focus on handstands
Diving instructor (PADI & CMAS)

I have also completed advanced training courses in functional training, kettlebell training, guided equipment training and fascia training at the Holmes Place Academy.

My coaching experience began in 2015 and since then I have led over 500 hours of HIIT group classes, indoor cycling sessions and worked as a swim coach for competitive and young athletes. Since 2021 I have been practicing calisthenics with a focus on handstands and even had the honor to work and teach with a calisthenics community in Barcelona.
